Formulating New Bridges for the Next Decade of Chemistry
PITTSBURGH, May 11, 2010 — Some 500 chemistry professionals gathered here at the 43rd annual Pittsburgh Chemical Day, a unique forum for the sector’s experts to discuss the latest technologies, trends and issues facing their businesses and industry in the United States. Held at the city’s venerable William Penn Hotel, the meeting featured seminars and dialogue among scientists, functional experts, and sales and marketing professionals.
Pittsburgh is known throughout the world as “The City of Bridges.” It boasts 446 of them. So this year’s Pittsburgh Chemical Day theme, “Formulating New Bridges to the Next Decade of Chemistry,” couldn’t be more appropriate.
Greg Babe, President and CEO of Bayer Corporation and Bayer MaterialScience LLC, was the keynote speaker and outlined 10 steps the industry can take to build bridges of opportunity — to rethink the habits of the past and deliver on what Bayer calls “Science for A Better Life.”
